Connected Ages:
A Friendship of All Ages Project
Connected Ages is a CAS initiative dedicated to bringing generations closer together through technology. This project focuses on creating an easy-to-understand book that helps elderly people learn how to use phones, apps, and social media so they can stay connected with family and friends. By combining creativity, community service, and digital learning, Connected Ages aims to strengthen relationships, build confidence, and make technology accessible for everyone— no matter their age.
How It All Began
Hi, my name is Yannis Ioakimides!
I’m creating a guidebook to help elderly people learn how to use technology with confidence — from using WhatsApp to staying safe online. This project was inspired by my experience volunteering with Prolepsis through the Friendship of Every Age program, where I had the chance to connect with older adults and understand how important digital communication can be for them.
I am currently a student at the Moraitis School IB Program, and this guidebook is part of my CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) initiative. Through CAS, I wanted to create something meaningful that directly helps people in my community, and this project felt like the perfect way to combine service with creativity.
Through this website, I want to share my journey, invite classmates and friends to join in, and gather support to help me print and distribute the guidebook to those who need it most. Together, we can make technology feel a little more friendly for everyone.

Prolepsis Institute
Friendship at Every Age
The Prolepsis Institute, with the support of Les Petits Frères des Pauvres, runs the Friendship at Every Age program to combat loneliness and social isolation among elderly people in Greece. Through the program seniors that feel lonely
(a) are connected with volunteers through often phone calls and visits,
(b) participate in various activities and opportunities to socialize and connect, and
(c) can call the "Loneliness Helpline for Older Adults" at 210 6101300 daily from 10:00 to 22:00 and on weekends from 11:00 to 17:00.
Why Your Donation Matters
By donating to this project, you are helping elderly people gain the digital skills they need to stay connected, informed, and independent. Many older adults feel isolated or left behind in today’s fast-moving online world, and a simple, friendly guidebook can make a huge difference in their daily lives. Your support will help cover the printing and distribution costs so the book can reach those who need it most — especially individuals who don’t have access to training or resources. Every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer to bridging the digital gap between generations and making technology accessible for everyone.
